The Myth of Innocence
Plot
While I do feel that it's important to have a plot plan, I get very superstitious when everything I plan -- and all the scenes I want to include -- are written down. So the following is the plot for The Myth of Innocence, which you can find here. I write down the chapter and what I want to happen in the chapter. Often I add footnotes and references, so that I can keep track of exactly who is doing what. Near the very end of the story, I was having trouble keeping focus, so I included my goal and what I want to happen. I also had to figure out what exactly happened to Thom and Adaline, so their basic story is included as well. The page is divided into four parts; The Main Plot, Footnotes, My Aim, and Bibliography.
Click on the number to go to that chapter to compare the outcome with the plot. Any footnotes are linked so that you can return to the plot. Please note: The prologue is labelled as Chapter 1. Therefore, The first real chapter is chapter two, the second chapter three, and so forth.
1. Prologue - Thom and Adaline1.
2. Ginny goes back to school. Virginia tells her that Ginny is her mother. Won't say who is father 2. Ginny gets paired with Blaise for Potions.

10. Draco plays a trick on her - slips her Veritaserum. She reveals to him about Ginny, and how she didn't really wish to join the Death Eater's but didn't know what else to do. Draco tells her about the Renegades. Virginia kisses him9.
11. Finish the kiss. Ginny's disappointed. Draco shows her how much un-disappointing he can be. A Howler from Molly interrupts them.

20. Possible Epilogue. Ginny and Draco are fighting about Virginia, and then they make up15.
1 Adaline was previously known as Elarania before the re-write. Back
2 Virginia's 'father' is Tom Riddle. Back
3 Slytherin's tunnels, passed down from generation to generation. Tom knew because of the basilisk. The entrance is located in Slytherin's shoe. Back
4 Actually, it was Harry that hurt her. He got drunk on the anniversary of Sirius' death, and took her virginity while he was at it. He said some things: 'You know what I love about you, Ginny,' he slurred; and Ginny thought he meant he loved her. She was wrong, and incredibly hurt by it. Virginia was furious at his taking advantage of her innocence. Back
5 Unrequited love on Hermione's part. Possibly going somewhere. Unsure as yet.Back
6 Male dorms, in Draco's bed. She refuses to touch him. Back
7 Which is quite odd, because she's starting to take on traits that belong to Ginny, who used to go to the library when she was upset. Actually, this was never included in the story, but the thought was there, anyway. Back
8 Adaline and Thom: They met at a party, and fell in love. However, Adaline was considered insane by most. Thom (a wizard) realized she wasn't insane - there was a sickness inside of her that was slowly destroying her. He promised her marriage, but she didn't show up to the ceremony, and her family, shamed that she didn't turn up, refused to let her marry him. Thom left her to find a cure, but he didn't tell her that. She decided that he'd been stringing her along and had abandoned her, and became bitter and twisted. The sickness grew stronger and stronger, as did her hate, until the day he walked into her life with her cure. She, having not realized that she was sick, rejected him. She had sex with him, and got pregnant, but still didn't trust him. She later sent him to the tower, as she had all her other suitors, and he was killed. However, with his death, so did the cure to the sickness. It overpowered her a month later, killing both her child and herself. Back
9 Finally, a kiss! Back
10 Undecided as yet. Back
11 Entered into the hospital. Back
12 "I still love her, Blaise. She's gone, and I still love her!" Back
13 Actually, in the end, this chapter merged with the chapter before it, so a 19th chapter wasn't needed. Back
14 "We've both lost someone we've loved. And we can't tell anyone about it, because they'd put you in the hospital. But even now, when I know you aren't her, I still want you. So do you think, perhaps, we might..give it a go?"
"We might try." Back
15 This chapter was never actually written. For a long while I had it planned, because I thought I might need it in order to round off the story. In the end I felt it was best just to keep the end as it was, and leave the reader thinking what they wished about Draco and Ginny. Back
In A Letter To Nicole, About My Problems With The Ending [Aim] | Back to top
This was what I used as my 'aim' for the last chapter. I was having so much trouble I sent Nicole an e-mail, and, in describing my problem I worked out what I wanted!
Basically, I want Ginny and Malfoy to end up together. I don't want it to be a natural progression as such, which is what I'm writing now. *sigh* I want it to be sort of...they think that they're enemies but they know everything about each other, and they finally realise they can't help it, so they give in and become non-enemies. I don't want them to be friends as such and I want them both to think it's absolutely crazy and...*lightbulb goes off* I've got it! And it means I cut out a whole load of crap in the chapter!
I've really felt the need to acknowledge sources and people who helped me write The Myth of Innocence, especially since I put so much work into researching what I was talking about. A lot of it was made up, yes, but there were also some parts that weren't, and so I did this quick bibliography.

Thank you so much to these websites and people. Their support and influence made this possible, so without them I'd be in some very deep water, literary wise. I'm sure I've probably missed some sites, but hopefully they'll be covered in the resources section.
